What a fantastic way to spend the afternoon at Ettrick Elementary! Earlier in the week our Red Hawks dropped everything and read for a special school-wide DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) event!
We had smiles, laughs, and great stories as our students practiced their reading fluency by sharing books with other students. Some students also got the special opportunity to read their favorite books to different staff members in the building. There is nothing quite like seeing the students enjoy reading to others!
Keep encouraging reading at home! Every minute counts!

Last week, 3rd-5th graders from Ettrick Elementary hosted a music concert and art show at the PAC. Our RedHawk students truly shined, proving that hard work, creativity, and teamwork lead to amazing results. Their talents in the arts were on full display!

Ettrick Elementary celebrated Outdoor Classroom Day by taking our K-5 students outside for an afternoon of hands-on learning and exploration.
It was a perfect day to connect with nature! Our students rotated through stations where they:
👟 Embarked on a hike through the trails.
🍎 Enjoyed apple cider, cookies, and stories about our environment.
🌲 Built their own pinecone bird feeders and played field games.
What a fantastic way to learn, create, and explore!

Fourth graders also got to have a little extra fun to celebrate their teacher getting married. They drew up some creative designs for what she should wear on her wedding day!

Our 4th graders and 4K students buddied up today to paint pumpkins together! It was a fantastic morning filled with creativity, and lots of big smiles.
We love seeing our older Redhawks being such great leaders and friends to our youngest learners. This is what community is all about!

Your kindness ensures that every child can play, learn, and enjoy the outdoors safely as the Wisconsin weather gets colder. We are so grateful for community partners like you who help our students thrive!

Our day started with a special delivery. Thank you to Groovy Grind and the generous families and community for beginning our day with a drink delivery, along with some snacks. It was the perfect way to fuel our morning full of field trip fun!
4K had their first outreach day at Ferguson's Orchard. 1st grade went to the Trempealeau Wildlife Refuge. Lastly, 2nd grade went on a walking field trip around town to different area businesses. Although it wasn't the best weather our students didn't let the rain stop their fun!

Ettrick Elementary's 4K class has been having a great first week! They are busy getting to know each other, learning school expectations, and most of all having fun!

5th Graders at Ettrick Elementary cozied up with some blankets to read. They didn't let these fall temperatures stop them from enjoying the serenity of reading a good book in nature!
