Snow day adjustments? Not at Ettrick Elementary! ❄️ Even though our Bruce Mound field trip was postponed, our Red Hawks proved today that we can find adventure anywhere.

While the mountain will have to wait, our classrooms turned a chilly Friday into a day of cozy learning and friendly competition!

✨ First Grade & 4K teamed up for some "magical" flashlight reading inside cozy forts. 🔦📚

🔢 Fourth & Fifth Grade faced off in an intense, high-energy 99 Math battle to test their skills! 🧠💻

🌱 Third Grade brought a little bit of spring indoors by getting their hands dirty and starting some new plantings! 🪴

❤️ Love is in the air at Ettrick Elementary! ❤️

Our Redhawks are officially in the Valentine’s spirit! We are celebrating all week long with some fun themed dress-up days to spread kindness and school spirit.

Today’s theme was "Dress to Impress," and wow—did our students deliver! From fancy dresses and dapper ties to sharp sweaters, the hallways are looking extra classy today. It’s wonderful to see our Redhawks taking such pride in their appearance and showing off their personal style. 👔👗✨

Nothing says "engaged learning" like being cozy! 📚☕️✨

Our 5th Grade Reading class leveled up their literacy game this week with the ultimate "Podcast & Chill" session. Students traded their traditional desks for blankets, snacks, and refreshing drinks while diving into some incredible storytelling.

Listening to podcasts is a fantastic way for our Red Hawks to build critical listening skills, practice visualization, and explore new perspectives—and doing it with a little extra comfort makes it all the more memorable!

Way to go, 5th grade! What a great way to spend class time.

🎒 Future Redhawks in the House!

We had such a wonderful time welcoming our newest learners and their families to Ettrick Elementary last week for our 4K Registration Night & Open House! 🦅❤️

It was so exciting to see the hallways filled with the smiling faces of our future students. Families were able to get a head start on registration forms, tour the 4K classrooms, and meet some of our amazing staff.

One of the highlights of the night was definitely our "Future Red Hawk" photo op! Our incoming students looked absolutely adorable and ready to take on the world. 📸✨

A huge thank you to all the families who joined us. We are already counting down the days until these little Red Hawks officially join our school family this fall!

❤️ Red Hawk Ettrick Community in Action! ❤️

We are so incredibly grateful to share a special new addition to Ettrick Elementary! We recently received a donated locker fully stocked with hygiene items for our students to access whenever they need them.

This project was made possible through the incredible generosity of the Lucas Mack Memorial Bed-races held during Ettrick Days. Thanks to the organizer, Konor Bork, the participants, and the many community donors who contributed, our students have one more way to feel supported and ready to learn every day.

It truly takes a village, and we are so proud to be part of the Ettrick community. Please join us in sharing a huge "Thank You" to everyone who made this possible! 🦅✨

On Wednesday evening, Henrietta and Aspen from Ettrick Elementary participated in the annual Trempealeau County Environmental Speaking contest. Both of them researched and wrote speeches about conservation topics in Wisconsin. They presented their speeches to 3 judges and audience members. Both girls were praised for giving exceptional speeches and both gained valuable knowledge and experience from this event. Congratulations to Henrietta for placing 1st in the 5th - 6th grade division, and to Aspen for placing 2nd in the same division! Henrietta will now compete at the state regional level against other 1st place contestants from other counties. Good luck, Henrietta, and congratulations to both of you! Ettrick Elementary is very proud of your efforts and leadership!

🌟 WISHES GRANTED AT ETTRICK ELEMENTARY! 🌟

A massive Red Hawk shoutout to our incredible Ettrick PTO and our amazing community members!

Recently, our teachers had their "classroom wishes" granted, and the excitement in the building is contagious! Our teachers are feeling so incredibly supported and appreciative, and let’s just say the kids are very big fans of the new additions to their classrooms and playground! 💻🎨📚

It’s partnerships like this that help our students Grow, Excel, and Thrive. We are so lucky to be part of such a generous and dedicated community.

Thank you for investing in our Red Hawks! ❤️

Our 4K students got in the holiday spirit at Ettrick Elementary with a comical read aloud, "Fritz the Farting Reindeer Saves Christmas". It was read to them by our 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Guenther, who even brought some props. In addition, this sparked some wonderful learning about maps and all the places Santa has to travel to in one night!

A huge THANK YOU to the wonderful Ettrick Lions Club! 🦁❤️

They brought some extra sweetness to our halls today by generously donating candy canes for ALL of our Ettrick Elementary Red Hawks—students and staff alike!

Their commitment to our community and to spreading holiday cheer is truly appreciated. It’s small acts like this that make Ettrick such a special place to live and learn.

What a fantastic way to spend the afternoon at Ettrick Elementary! Earlier in the week our Red Hawks dropped everything and read for a special school-wide DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) event!

We had smiles, laughs, and great stories as our students practiced their reading fluency by sharing books with other students. Some students also got the special opportunity to read their favorite books to different staff members in the building. There is nothing quite like seeing the students enjoy reading to others!

Keep encouraging reading at home! Every minute counts!

The school forest was buzzing with RedHawk energy Friday afternoon! 🌳✨

Ettrick Elementary celebrated Outdoor Classroom Day by taking our K-5 students outside for an afternoon of hands-on learning and exploration.

It was a perfect day to connect with nature! Our students rotated through stations where they:

👟 Embarked on a hike through the trails.

🍎 Enjoyed apple cider, cookies, and stories about our environment.

🌲 Built their own pinecone bird feeders and played field games.

What a fantastic way to learn, create, and explore!

Yesterday, Ettrick Elementary was a sea of orange to celebrate Unity Day. Students and staff wore orange to promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. In addition, they took turns adding orange hands to create a kindness tree!

Fourth graders also got to have a little extra fun to celebrate their teacher getting married. They drew up some creative designs for what she should wear on her wedding day!
